Jesse Duquette is a freelance illustrator, most known for his project 'The Daily Don' where he illustrated every day of the 2016-2021 Trump Administration. I became aware of his work during the BLM movement when people would post his illustrations on their instagram stories to highlight the injustices that minorities experience such as the mistreatment of Colin Kaepernick in his peaceful protest against the NFL and Breonna Taylor's murder. His illustrations are simple (ditto, he completes 1-2 every day) yet his use of coloured pencil is charming whilst conveying the childlike nature of Trump's politics. His work demonstrates that the integration of politics with design is possible and that design can be a vessel for change.
